Strokes of Genius® Inc was conceptualized to create awareness of the abilities within those classified as “dis-abled”. Based on the teachings of the most highly recognized adult with autism in the world “Dr. Temple Grandin”; Train The Talent (TTT℠) is a program that expands our understanding of the diversity of people on the autism spectrum while encouraging advancement beyond the individuals' challenges. Participating artists share their contributions with the world as an extension of this message to “train the talent” and to foster independence.
Train The Talent (TTT℠) Art Studio Workshops:
Strokes of Genius, Inc. offers Art Studio workshops for youngsters and adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who have an interest or talent in art. In general, workshops help the artist to expand his exposure to using various medium from pencil to charcoal, to watercolor and acrylics. We offer classes in drawing, cartooning, and digital animation. Courses are offered in an appropriately age matched group; across all levels from beginner to expert.
The focus is to help the individual build confidence, develop appropriate leisure skills, promote self-awareness and increase overall communication while building social and emotional skills within the teaching environment through art. Strokes of Genius, Inc.
Instructors are a diverse team of talented and highly trained teaching artists. Our programs keep students engaged while promoting important life skills like active listening, decision-making, self-motivation and self-confidence. Our instructors are professionals, continually working to evaluate, assess, and identify best practices within the increasingly important field of social and emotional education. Whether an individual student has a “gift” or “talent” for art; or just a basic interest in doodling, Strokes of Genius, Inc. will help to develop the particular skill level.
We also offer a cartooning/comic stripping class taught by an artist who happens to have autism.
